There are some wedding days that just feel really, really lovely and Abby and Ben’s wedding at Healds Hall in Liversedge was definitely one of those.
From getting married at Abby’s childhood church to a sunny afternoon celebrating with their family and friends, their West Yorkshire wedding was full of all the good stuff: happy tears, big smiles, plenty of laughter and lots of those little moments that make a wedding day feel completely personal.
And honestly, it was one of those gorgeous Yorkshire days where the sun decided to make an appearance too. You can’t ask for much more than that!
Getting Married at Abby’s Childhood Church
The day began at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, a place that holds a really special place in Abby’s heart as it was her childhood church.
I always love it when a couple chooses somewhere that has real meaning to them. It makes the ceremony feel so much more personal, and that was certainly the case for Abby and Ben.
The church was filled with their lovely friends and family, with the congregation there to share such an important moment with them. There was a real sense of community throughout the ceremony, warm, familiar and full of genuine emotion.
It wasn't just a beautiful place to get married; it was a little piece of Abby’s story becoming part of their story together.
And I think that’s one of the loveliest things about weddings, taking all those different parts of your lives and bringing them together for one brilliant day.
A Sunny Yorkshire Wedding at Healds Hall
After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Healds Hall in Liversedge to continue the celebrations.
And what a setting for it.
With the sun shining, Healds Hall looked absolutely gorgeous. There was plenty of opportunity to enjoy the grounds, soak up the sunshine and, most importantly, spend time with the people they had brought together to celebrate with them.
Healds Hall is such a lovely Yorkshire wedding venue, and it has that relaxed, welcoming feel that works so well for a wedding like Abby and Ben’s. It felt friendly and unpretentious, with everyone simply enjoying being together.
Which, let's be honest, is exactly how a wedding day should feel.
The Loveliest Friends and Family
One of the things that really stood out throughout Abby and Ben’s wedding day was just how lovely their friends and family were.
There was such a happy atmosphere around them. Everyone was there to celebrate them, and you could really feel how much love and support surrounded them throughout the day.
There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter and those lovely in-between moments that happen when people who haven't seen each other for ages are brought together in one place.
For me, these are often some of my favourite parts of a wedding day. The big moments are wonderful, of course, but it’s the little bits happening around them that tell the real story.
A hug between family members.
Friends catching up over a drink.
A quick laugh when nobody thinks the camera is looking.
And all those moments where you can see just how happy people are to be there.
A Wedding Day That Felt Completely Personal
What I loved about Abby and Ben’s wedding was that it never felt like they were trying to fit their day into what a wedding should be.
It felt like their wedding.
Starting the day at Abby’s childhood church gave the ceremony a lovely sense of history and meaning, before moving on to Healds Hall for a relaxed celebration with the people closest to them.
It was personal, joyful and very much about the two of them and the people they love.
And having that beautiful sunshine thrown into the mix was a pretty good bonus!

As a Leeds wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to weddings that have a real sense of personality. The ones where you can tell the couple have chosen things because they mean something to them, rather than simply because they are expected to.
Abby and Ben’s Healds Hall wedding was exactly that.
From their meaningful ceremony at St Andrew’s Methodist Church to the celebrations in Liversedge, it was a day full of genuine moments, brilliant people and plenty of Yorkshire sunshine.
And that's what makes a wedding memorable.
Not everything being perfect.
Not following a particular formula.
Just having the people you love around you, getting married to your best mate and having a bloody good day doing it.
