All because this lady loves a good wedding.......

All because this lady loves a good wedding

This is usually the part where you’d expect me to talk about my passion for photography and how much I love it so much I’d probably do it for free. And while I do genuinely love my job, I also love buying shoes. Lots of shoes. Shoes in every colour… so sadly, photography-for-free just isn’t sustainable.

When I’m not behind the camera or shoe shopping, you’ll probably find me in a pilates class or out hiking with my husband of many, many years, Ant, our two gorgeous boys, Evan and Oscar, and our bonkers boxer dog, Roxy.

I also love to dance and I’m usually the first one onto the dancefloor, quite often at a wedding I’m photographing. Thanks to a long-standing love of Strictly Come Dancing, you’ll regularly find me attempting an Argentine tango or being led round the floor in a foxtrot. This type of dancing also, quite conveniently, requires you to buy shoes. There are Latin shoes, ballroom shoes, training shoes and, obviously, shoes just to walk to the ballroom in.

On a wedding day, I bring that same energy with me. I’m the one who’ll happily have a little dance if the floor’s calling, admire your shoes (because priorities), and keep everything feeling fun and very un-stuffy. I don’t do awkward posing, shouting instructions, or turning weddings into photoshoots. I let you enjoy your day, have a laugh, and I quietly capture everything as it really happens.

My photography style is classic, clean and timeless. I don’t chase trends or fads that will date in a few years’ time. I focus on natural, real colour and genuine moments, so your photos still feel just as good when you look back at them in 10, 20 or 30 years’ time.

Now for the boring bit (I’ll keep it short).

I started my photography career over 10 years ago after several years in the corporate world and while taking a break to raise my family. I gained a two-year qualification in photography and digital processing at Leeds college, followed by a photography diploma a few years later.

Over the years, I’ve invested heavily in my craft, training with and shadowing some of the best wedding photographers Yorkshire has to offer. Alongside weddings, I’ve been a regular photographer at tots’ groups across Wakefield and Leeds, at local schools, and within special needs settings in Manchester and Liverpool, where I’ve photographed some of the biggest and most joyful smiles I’ve ever seen.

Since 2024, my husband Ant has officially joined me as my videographer and second photographer. That means an extra pair of experienced eyes on your day and, on selected packages, a beautiful highlight reel too. You’ll also be getting a live demonstration of 20+ years of marriage, warts, eye-rolls and all, so we’re well practised in teamwork, patience and laughing when things don’t quite go to plan. We work seamlessly together, blend in with your guests, and keep everything ticking along without stealing the spotlight.

I’m fully insured (including public liability and professional indemnity) and I’m a proud member of The Guild of Photographers.

I hope this little bit of waffle has given you a good insight into who’s behind the camera. I can’t wait to meet you and hear all about your plans.
