A wedding that was pure Joy from “I Do” to Dancefloor Magic
There are wedding days… and then there are wedding days.
Friday 24th October was the kind that reminds you why love stories and cameras exist.
Katy & Alex tied the knot at the gorgeous Hotel du Vin York, and from the very first moment there was an unmistakable energy in the air of fun, warmth, and a sense that this was going to be one of those celebrations no one would forget in a hurry.
The Ceremony was intimate, emotional and effortlessly “them”
Held in the beautiful ceremony room at Hotel Du Vin, the atmosphere felt relaxed and personal, topped with the kind of vows that make absolutely everyone well up, including the photographer (no shame here).
And then came the moment that stole the show…
The gorgeous little Archer as ring bearer and, he absolutely nailed it.
Proud, confident, and grinning from ear to ear, he delivered the rings like a seasoned professional and melted every heart in the building.
Confetti, cuddles and all the feels
After the “I dos,” out came the hugs, the cheers and the confetti dip kiss, expertly carried out by Alex & Katy after months of practice.
Katy & Alex’s family and friends deserve a special shout-out too, one of the most welcoming, joyful groups we’ve ever worked with. Within minutes it felt like photographing friends we’ve known for years.
Archer got hero-level attention too, as he should. Everyone wanted a photo with the tiny legend of the afternoon.
Couples portraits — Hotel Du Vin at its best
We whisked the newlyweds off for a little wander around the beautiful grounds and up the fabulous staircase that's a true centre piece at the hotel. No stiff posing, just the two of them looking fabulous, being natural, playful and totally in love, with the occasional cameo from Archer for hugs and giggles.
Evening celebrations.....FULL SEND mode activated
If the ceremony was emotional and romantic, the evening was pure unleashed energy.
Dancefloor? Packed.
Guests? Zero chill, full vibes.
Music? Absolute bangers, one after another played by @sax.by.ben
There were some legendary moves on show and we’re talking future-family-slideshow level gold. And Archer? Still awake, still dancing for longer than anyone expected. Hero.
A stand-out moment
There were a lot but this one lives rent-free in our heads:
During the first dance, Alex pulled Katy in close and the entire room just melted. Phones down. No one watching through screens, everyone simply felt it.
