Clare and Rich’s Wedding at The Hovels, Harewood
As far as a The Hovels Harewood wedding goes, this one had everything, heart, history, and a whole load of fun.
Clare and Rich are childhood sweethearts who went off and did life separately, only to find their way back to each other years later. Which honestly feels wildly romantic and slightly smug (in the best way).
Their Hovels at Harewood wedding had that magic from the start kind of energy. You know the one, where within about ten minutes you can tell it’s going to be a very good day. Old friends reuniting after years apart, big hugs everywhere, lots of “how has it been THIS long?!” and immediately picking up right where they left off.
The ceremony? Equal parts lovely and “hold it together, don’t cry in public.” Clare and Rich up there like no time had passed at all, just a few extra chapters added before the happy ending.
Then came the wedding banquet (or what we’ll call a professional-level eating and chatting session), followed by some seriously good speeches. Rich kicked things off first, setting the tone with something heartfelt, funny, and completely him. Then both daughters absolutely smashed it, followed by Clare's mum bringing the perfect mix of warmth and wit.
A quick but important mention for Rory, Rich’s son and best man, who took on ring duty like a pro. No last-minute panic, no “has anyone seen them?!” just flawless execution.
A quick bolt (by car) upto the tree lined avenue for some bride tribe and couples shots, and then to the party.
A proper one. The kind you hope for when you’re planning a wedding at The Hovels, Harewood. It all kicked off with their first dance to “What Took You So Long?” which might just be the most perfectly on the nose song choice ever. Subtle? Not even slightly. Perfect? Absolutely.
From there, the dance floor stayed full, the shoes slowly disappeared, and the years between friendships completely vanished.
From start to finish, this was one of those Yorkshire wedding days that just worked. Fun, a little bit chaotic (in the best way), full of heart, and completely, unapologetically them.
