Kelly and Tom’s Winter Wedding at Leeds Civic Hall
If you ever needed proof that November weddings can be brilliant, Kelly and Tom’s day was it. Crisp air, cosy winter vibes, Leeds just starting to dust off the tinsel and a ride on a Christmas carousel, because why not.
Their wedding took place at Leeds Civic Hall right as the Christmas market was being set up. Stalls going up, lights being tested, the odd bit of festive music floating about… the city had that “ooh, Christmas is coming” feeling. Leeds was basically warming up for a big night out, and Kelly & Tom decided to get married in the middle of it. Perfect timing.
Kelly looked effortlessly amazing, and Tom spent the afternoon like a man who knew he’d absolutely smashed it. Leeds Civic Hall is always a cracking backdrop, big, bold, and full of character, and in winter it really comes into its own. Grey skies, stone buildings, and a bit of seasonal atmosphere? Very Yorkshire. Very photogenic, perfect for anyLeeds wedding photographer.
One of the loveliest parts of the day was how much Kelly & Tom’s children, Alice & Otis, were part of everything. Not just there in the background, but right at the heart of the day. Smiles, laughter, and a few perfectly chaotic family moments that make weddings feel real. Capturing them together as a family added an extra layer of meaning to the day, and some of those moments are absolute favourites.
And then came one of my favourite moments full stop. As the Christmas market team were still mid-build, I spotted a Kelly Christmas carousel… and naturally decided the only sensible thing to do was get Kelly & Tom on it. Full wedding outfits. Big smiles and plenty of passers-by who definitely weren’t expecting to see a bride and groom on a carousel that afternoon.
It was daft, joyful, and completely them and the photos are just as fun. Proper “this is our wedding, we’ll do what we like” energy.
The November light played its part too, soft, flattering, and perfect for relaxed portraits without squinting into the sun or battling a heatwave (this is Yorkshire after all). Add a couple who were up for a laugh, kids fully involved, and not afraid to lean into the moment, and it made for a cracking day all round.
Kelly & Tom’s wedding was a reminder that you don’t need summer sunshine for an unforgettable wedding. Sometimes all you need is a city getting ready for Christmas, a carousel spin, your children by your side, and a bit of northern humour to kick off married life in style.
