Wedding of Kirsty & Chris at East Keswick Village Hall
A Fusion of Yorkshire Charm and Scottish Tradition — Kirsty & Chris at East Keswick Village Hall
On the 7th of June 2025, Kirsty and Chris celebrated their wedding at the beautiful East Keswick Village Hall, a light-filled, countryside venue nestled between Leeds and Harrogate. Their day was a stunning blend of personal touches, family heritage, and pure, unfiltered joy.
Kirsty’s family travelled down from Scotland for the big day, bringing with them the warmth of Highland tradition and Uncle Martin with his bagpipes. From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a wedding, it was a heartfelt coming together of two families, two cultures, and one brilliant love story.
A Ceremony Full of Meaning
The ceremony was rich with tradition, beginning with the hand-tying ritual, an ancient custom that gave us the original phrase “tying the knot.” With rope wrapped around their hands, Kirsty and Chris made their vows in a moment that felt both timeless and deeply personal.
Another powerful moment came with the use of a quaich, a traditional two-handled Scottish drinking cup used to symbolise unity and trust. During the ceremony, the couple shared a sip of whisky from the quaich, sealing their commitment with warmth, history, and just a touch of fire.
The Sound of the Highlands
A true highlight of the day was the music, led by none other than Kirsty’s uncle Martin, who played the bagpipes during the ceremony, filling the air with emotion and pride. He returned again in the evening, this time to rally guests onto the dancefloor. And rally he did, the sound of the pipes had everyone up on their feet, spinning, stomping, and celebrating well into the night.

East Keswick Village Hall provided the perfect backdrop for the day, relaxed, intimate, and full of natural light especially if you choose and outdoor ceremony like Kirsty & Chris. Simple but elegant touches made the space feel like home, and the surrounding countryside added that breath-of-fresh-air feeling guests love.
From whisky toasts to late-night laughter, Kirsty and Chris’s day was everything a wedding should be: heartfelt, joyful, and completely unique to them.
